wedding Wednesday: silver and white tablescape

(excuse the iPhone photos!)

T and I attended our fourth wedding of the year this past weekend. It was our first small wedding (only about 70 people total) and had quite a few DIY touches that the bride did herself (and they looked gorgeous!). My favorite touch was probably this centerpiece wreath on our table.

I love love love the dress I wore on Saturday but was too busy on the dance floor to get a good photo, so here's a classy bathroom selfie to show you what I wore. I've loved Sue Wong dresses for a while. (I won't lie to you, I shed everywhere on Saturday night, leaving ostrich feathers behind as a reminder of my presence.)

outfit: the blues

Do you ever have one of those days where you go through three or four outfits before finally finding something you're comfortable in that suits your day? It seems to happen to me more often than not, which is why I have a healthy collection of easy shift dresses for summer work days. Sidenote: I need to start taking photos in the morning, when I don't look exhausted from the work day.

Someone really wanted to be in the pictures. Here's the look he got after pawing at my hand, to which his face said, "What? I'm important."

outfit: casual scallops

Remember when I told you I got a new DSLR? I've been playing with my camera lately, and I've decided to share some outfit posts with you. This blog has turned into much more "life" than it has "style" (get it... lifestyle...), and I'm going to fix that, starting now.

If I'm making a stupid face, please tell me and I will try not to do it again. I'm not a model by any stretch of the imagination. Consider that your warning.

I work in a pretty casual office, so this is a typical workday outfit for me. I'm normally wearing heels, but on a day when I'm running from meeting to meeting, I pull out a comfy pair of flats. These basic black ballet flats feel like slippers - seriously!

what I wore: beautiful blue day

I always have a much better day when I love the outfit I'm in. It definitely boosts my confidence, especially when I'm heading into a long day of meetings or stressful conversations.

Here's what I wore yesterday, including my white power blazer, a fun necklace, new skinnies, and my must-wear MK watch. Oh, and leopard print heels. Everyone needs a good pair of leopard heels. Trust me, they put an extra oomph in your step.

Have a fabulous weekend!

style feature on Mary Costa Photography

One of my very good friends, Mary, is a photographer in Los Angeles. When she was home in NH for Christmas, we went to a nearby pond and took some photos in the chilly morning. Go check out her style spotlight, featuring yours truly!

what I wore: style inspired by a green & blue bedroom

Occasionally, I'll be picking out an outfit in the morning and will think back to a picture I saw - whether it's a bedroom (in this case), a piece of art, or something from nature. (This bedroom image is a much more muted version of what I put together, but it still was in my head nonetheless.)

Earlier this week was no exception, when I decided to pair my lime green suede "tennis ball shoes", as I affectionately call them, with a bright blue blazer and plain white tee. A sparkly necklace and standard MK watch later, I was out the door for another exciting day at my desk. Bonus: Check out how cool our office carpet is, with hints of pink and yellow in the gray base.
